never doubt your mom's style..

Well..first off Merry Christmas!! Overall, the day was relaxed/chill and our family decided to just stay in Orlando instead of joining the rest of the family in Tampa. I personally, love the holidays and I really hate to see it go away =[
Here's the day in pictures:

Christmas morning...I heard the usual coming from our living room - Disney Parade on Tv/Vietnamese karaoke.

My family isn't very traditional and we eat dim sum on holidays.

As for the gifts...

once again, im not usually a coach fan but this wristlet was something I wanted as soon as I saw it.
This was just what I needed because my legs were burning from holding my laptop on my bed! for the title of this blog:
I was looking through my mom's closet of shoes today and I found two pairs of shoes that I actually really like! I've never considered wearing my mom's things and such, but I think shoes will be an exception and possibly a few bags that she owns. Here are the shoes that I might be borrowing sometime soon =p

yees..I wore the black ones today :D

But overall, you shouldn't be doubting anything from your mom anymore when you get to a certain age because as much as we all hate it or try to avoid it, all women have taken on their mother's characteristics. I know I have and it worries me..

I can't wait till Disney Tuesday and New Years eve with my OJ !

The L word is a strange thing : whether it is like or love

"don't take advantage of a girl's willingness
to do anything for love
and her caring instinct
i didn't know that to be born as a girl and
to be loved was so hard
although i will curse you i'll still miss you
since i am a girl, to whom love is everything
although i will curse you i'll still miss you
since i am a girl, to whom love is everything"

gingerbread cookies

The weather lately has been very nice, the semester is about to end, the holidays are coming..and hopefully this cold weather continues =[ I really like cold weather, but I hate how I always look like crap when its cold, lol. For one, my bed gets so comfy and warm - I don't want to get up at all and when I do get up, I want to just want to go to school in what I slept in! Plus, my skin is very sensitive to very cold weather and very hot weather =/

I haven't been doing much this semester except study, hanging out with orange juice and a few things here and there. I haven't tried any new restaurants in a while, but a few weeks ago, we had a girls night out at Fifi's by Lake Eola. The condos beside those restaurants/lounges were amazing! Fifi's was empty when we got there, but it was nice, I rather not be in a busy and noisy restaurant. Food was alright, they didn't have a lot of selections on their menu but the atmosphere was nice.. seriously, if I could be the woman version of Anthony Bourdain, I would so do it! They need an asian girl on Food channel, right? =P

finally a friday off!

So, this is my first time having a Friday off for the past two months or more? Time to celebrate with the girlssss, GNO part 2, mofos.

There are a few things to mention in this post:

1.) I feel a lot of people think I've disappeared, but that's not true! I've been working on the days that things go on and the most recent party I went to, I realized how I am getting too old for them. I kills me to say this because I use to enjoy parties and clubs a lot but honestly, there's a time to grow up and just settle with little get togethers with your friends.

I Love LA Toki doki watch.

3.) I went to the mall this week since monaay came in, one of my favorite things that I got was :

In grey, I love it =]

4.) Tammy just showed me something on American Apparel and I started looking again at that site (I had ordered things before but when they came in the mail, it did not look liek what I thought):

tis all for now..
"me me, its all about me, if a girl got a boy then she talk about me. He say, she say, it's all about me"

School and grades are kicking me in the butt, I'm going to use it as motivation to do better on my next tests. It is only the first tests afterall.

If I wasn't doing what I'm doing, my dream jobs would be:
1.) Anthony Bourdain's job
2.) Interior Designer
3.) Florist

lyrics and an extra

I really dislike people who listen to music and know nothing about the band/artist, but just listen to it because other people are or because they want to fit in with that type of musical crowd. Here is one of my old but one of my favorite bands:

Jack's Mannequin: former band member/singer of Something Corporate but went through cancer and created Jack's Mannequin.

-Lyrics to part of one of my favorite JM songs. "Bruised"

"I lace my Chucks, I walk the aisle
I take my pills, the babies cry
All I hear is what's playing through
The in-flight radio
Now every word of every song
I ever heard that made me wanna stay
Is what's playing through
The in-flight radio, and I
And I am, finally waking up"

Anyways, I recently found a new awesome place to put on my list of places to visit:

handbags over shoes anyday.

I like sneakers, but I would choose handbags over any kind of shoes ANYDAY!
These are the few hand bags I would die to get my hands on:

1.) MARC JACOBS bags are gorgeous:

2.)Juicy Couture - I'm not a big fan of their clothing or "sweats-material" bags..but their leather bags are an exception:

3.)Of course Gucci bags! But, the old school Gucci clutches/handbags are killer :)

4.)Louis Vuitton:

6.)Balenciaga Leather Bags are beautiful:

-so far, yes I have a thing for large hobo-satchel leather handbags! Hopefully one of these bags will be in my possession by the end of the year haha! I also like small handbags but I'm very picky when it comes to small clutches and small bags.

and lastly, of course my Toki doki bags =]

my olive room

The beginning of this year, I decided to buy a little shelf from Ikea and put it in my room. I wanted to fill it up with toys and cute stuff that will bring me memories when I glance at it. It's slowly growing:

it's not actually slanted, I just took the picture with my macbook and I held it crooked.

I hate you

and my dresser which I recently cleaned. Now it's not to shabby (I use to hate looking at how much crap I had on it):

Things on my dresser:
1.) my pretty teal jewelry box from Urban, it use to close, but I have too much jewelry.
2.) my Ipod player I got during Black Friday
3.) Nike Dunks box that I use to hold even more jewelry and wires to upload pictures from my cameras
4.) Chanel Eyeglasses that i never wear =/
5.) My MUNNY that I am working on. The only thing I've drawn/colored on it is a cherry blossom tree but possibly the rest of the munny will be tokidoki themed.

tis all for now.

o p p o r t u n i t i e s

Summer school is finally over and "summer" has finally begun (I put that in quotations because really I have two weeks before more upper level classes kick me in the butt). Although, I am definately happy to sleep to whenever my heart desires for the next two weeks!
To really round up the past two months of my summer in one word: inspiring.

1.) Career wise: After this spring semester, due to some of my grades, I started doubting if I could even make it into Pharmacy - they say Organic Chemistry I is the "make it or break it" class for anybody going into the Med. field. Ochem I just wasn't clicking- so I thought of an alternative : Optometry (less competitive). I job shadowed a family friend's son who is a Optometerist for a day. Overall, the experience was pretty awesome even though, it was super quiet and I barely sat in with him and his patients (real bad weather that day so a lot of his appts. cancelled). I cut a few lenses here and there, put together a few glasses, played with a few machines and learned a bit about insurance/filing. Everything seemed not too shabby, but the things he was telling me about getting out of school made me think. For one, he advised me to open a practice as soon as I get out school (on top of 100k student loans) because it would be beneficial to build up your integrity with clients/patients as soon as possible and working commercial right out of school was a trap (not allowing you to give your patients the full attention they need because corporates want you to do things THEIR way). It makes sense; good advice. What really caught me off guard was when he mentioned how a lot of colleagues who opened practices right after optometry school had to live with their parents for about another 3-4 years before all debts were cleared. Comparatively, my aunts who just came out of Pharmacy school, have signing bonuses, dont have to deal with any business aspect of opening a practice and they all got jobs as soon as they got out. And why the hell would I want to live with my parents ?! So, basically, I decided to stick to Pharmacy. I'm not going to go for something just because its less competitive but rather use it as a back up ha ha. But seriously, everything is hard to get into, I just have to work hard :] Success is knowing you worked hard to get to your goal.

2.) Organic Chemistry II: After a not-so successful semester of Organic I, I decided to just go for it and continue to Organic II. With many many hours of studying, I began to understand it. You can say what you want and call me what you want but you can get pretty creative with chemistry. You synthesize products to get what you want and you can predict these products by understanding the mechanism at where a certain reagent is attacking the compound. It's like cooking, a giant cook book :) I realized, I was studying for Organic I the wrong way. Honestly though, me finally comprehending Organic wasn't just because I studied more but, partly due to my professor. He motivated us EVERYDAY. I know, most people would get irritated and annoyed by someone motivating instead of teaching but, to me, I think someone who tries and motivates me everyday makes me want to work harder and makes me want to actually learn. He attaches letters he gets from prior students onto our lecture notes andhe tells us to continue working hard to reach our goals. For some reason, motivation really is the key to helping a lot of people stay focused and dedicated (so, try to motivate people as much as you can). Professors make a big difference in your learning experience, especially this summer for me :).

I shall end this post with something Dr. Miles said on the last lecture day: "never NEVER give up on your dreams." As cheesey as it sounds, it's a lot different when you're hearing it from someone who really means it.

Frank: life sucks.
Me: I don't know, but to me, you just have to wait because time will tell all. You just have to make the best of what it gives you even though, it may not be what you want, it's better than to mope around about something you weren't meant to have.
Frank: true that, when did you become so wise?

I learned a thing or two from Kung Fu Panda, j/k.

better in time

For the past few weeks, I've been compiling a few (maybe a little bit more) things I've been wanting or needing. I know, I'm not going to get everything I want but, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Buy a Polaroid camera

Visit pinkberry

Visit San Fran and view the Golden Gate bridge as the lighting changes every 10 seconds. (Visiting also includes: Santa Ana for the cousins, Cancun and New York City)

Just one weekend getaway at the Venetian Hotel, that's all I ask for.

5.) I need to restock on my favorite lotion scent ever: Strawberries & Champagne from VS

Tokidoki Moofia toy set

7.) find a new and comfortable pair of heels, if not, more dunks.

8.) Visit Pom Pom's Teahouse

9.) Get a pharmacy job or at least shadow one.

just because I need a cool shirt :)

to be continued..later, when my birthday comes around!

To dream anything that you want to dream. That's the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

music and movies

"Get it together
You wanna heal your body
You have to heal your heart
Whatsoever you sow you will reap
Get it together

You can fly fly

Dark future ahead of me
That's what they say
I'd be starving if I ate all the lies they fed
Cause I've been redeemed from your anguish and pain
A miracle child I'm floating on a cloud
Cause the words that come from your mouth
You're the first to hear
Speak words of beauty and you will be there
No matter what anybody says
What matters most is what you think of yourself"

yayayayay music makes me happy =]

on another note, I went to watch sex and the city the other night and it was overall, a pretty good movie. At first I was skeptical and I was going to skip out because I really dislike super girly movies (i.e. Mean girls, Legally Blonde, etc. stuff like that), but the storyline of sex and the city seems to fit every girl's life. Although, we may not be an editor in Vogue magazine or have a closet full of Gucci/Chanel and dress up every chance we get - the lives of each of the ladies are things we all go through and shows how each characters' personality contributes to the group of friends, which is very true when I compare it to my group of girls- there's a funny wild one, one sweet heart, another who is motherly and always there and one that is always neutral and goes with the flow and according to Regina, I'm the wild one (??? I would have to disagree haha). Although, I liked the girly-ness for once, I still love my funny movies =]

as finals approach

"If ever there's a tomorrow when we're not together, there's something you must always remember: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. But most importantly, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you"

and you told me to breathe easy..

So the past two weeks have been sorta busy. Especially this week, which consists of a lot of the usual: lab reports, homework, dance practice, and of course..the massive amounts of coffee.

I decided I should pick up a hobby this year instead of just studying and eating =P I use to draw and do web design as a hobby, but I kinda just stopped due to laziness and no time. So, I decided over summer I wanted to start dancing but didn't join Fresh off the Beat till this semester. Honestly, it's hectic especially on top of the classes I have to take, but it's worth it. It's like a break from everything and a place to have fun. One thing I need to work on though is to hit the beats harder..Work in progress!!! =)

torture week

I have much to study for including organic chemistry homework yet, here I am making a blog! The name helloorganics was suppose to motivate me to go back to doing homework...BUT, this is a little break from studying =P
