missing the bay

So, the semester/year has come to an end! Now more and new stresses have come up. I promised myself I will start becoming healthier in my food choices and activities from now on! I know there will even worst stress/events to come, so I need to maintain my health/beauty now.

As for my trip to San Francisco, one word: amazing. In the beginning, I felt tired (especially due to the fact, I went straight on vacay after my last final, literally) and wanted to sleep. Honestly, the first night, I told myself, what a culture shock. From the bus rides, the large downtown area, diversity of people you see on the bus, the view of the homes on the hillsides..I saw so much diversity and it was just the first day. I guess I got to see a glimpse of the city life.

Now that I am at home, I am missing the bay! I don't know what other cities have in store for little old me, but I really can imagine myself living in San Francisco. I miss the late night bus rides, the crazy people talking on the buses, how the heels of my feet were in pain every night from walking, how my stomach was always full from a random food stop, how my body went from freezing to sweating every hour and of course, the views that I saw.

I'm just glad I could get a glimpse of a little bit of city life before I apply to grad school and make my decisions.

I never thought how hard making a personal statement was. I don't remember applying to UCF was as hard as this ..

It will be a perfectly great break just before studying before the PCAT and the stresses of applications. Although, I am pretty excited about writing bout my achievements.

spring is in the air..

Today was a bit chilly even though, the sky looked magnificent and surprisingly, my backyard and front yard was blossoming flowers!
This is going to be a picture post; you can tell I'm a major foodie :)

I love my canon and I promised myself since I bought this camera, I will continue to use it daily! Especially, moments/scenery where I just need to take picture.

By the way, Spring break is coming up & heading to Jacksonville! Tons of pictures coming :)

february goes by too fast..

I figured I should update before this month is over.

This month went by so fast, I can't even remember what I did this month besides from studying and having 8+ tests this month.

"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and
willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that
nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not
wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide
whether or not to accept our destiny. "-Paulo Coelho

what a historic day it is..

I kept reminding myself to update sometime this month and what a better day than today: the day of change, hope and relief.

I didn't realize how important and dramatic an inauguration was. I mean I've seen plenty in my life time - Clinton, Bush and now Obama - but I think this time is different because I'm a lot older and I actually realize this is history happening before my eyes. When I think about our first African American president, I also think about how many possibilities there are in the future - Woman, Asian, Spanish, etc. leader. Not only that, but a brighter and broader perspective for our people. Maybe with an African American, many people can open their eyes and realize, times are changing and that we all need to unify as one with peace and respect for one another.

It was hard to imagine everyone in the world was watching and waiting at that moment in time. Everyone in the psychology building at UCF to Time Square. For once, I felt a bit emotional just due to the fact, that for once, I am a part of history and how hard work can take us many places.

"We are not unified by race nor religion, but we are unified by our freedom."

--on another note, semester is already in full effect and ..starting rocky. It's my my last important semester, so I have to get back in shape!

never doubt your mom's style..

Well..first off Merry Christmas!! Overall, the day was relaxed/chill and our family decided to just stay in Orlando instead of joining the rest of the family in Tampa. I personally, love the holidays and I really hate to see it go away =[
Here's the day in pictures:

Christmas morning...I heard the usual coming from our living room - Disney Parade on Tv/Vietnamese karaoke.

My family isn't very traditional and we eat dim sum on holidays.

As for the gifts...

once again, im not usually a coach fan but this wristlet was something I wanted as soon as I saw it.
This was just what I needed because my legs were burning from holding my laptop on my bed!

NOW..as for the title of this blog:
I was looking through my mom's closet of shoes today and I found two pairs of shoes that I actually really like! I've never considered wearing my mom's things and such, but I think shoes will be an exception and possibly a few bags that she owns. Here are the shoes that I might be borrowing sometime soon =p

yees..I wore the black ones today :D

But overall, you shouldn't be doubting anything from your mom anymore when you get to a certain age because as much as we all hate it or try to avoid it, all women have taken on their mother's characteristics. I know I have and it worries me..

I can't wait till Disney Tuesday and New Years eve with my OJ !
